The National Kenya Music Festival was held in Eldoret and Joy Makau, a learner from 8 blue was privileged to attend after emerging position one from our Eastern Region. Her performance was scheduled to take place on 05/08/2024.
On 4th August, 2024, Teacher Celine Zadock accompanied two learners to Eldoret that’s Joy Mwende Makau and Tabitha Ndanu.
They arrived safely and headed to the host school, Nova Pioneer Girls. Our girls were very discipline and had a healthy interaction with learner’s from Fred’s School Annex.
On 5th August, 2024 our presentation began at 9.40 am and Joy Makau did her best in the performance. The competition was very stiff as first position had 93 points while Joy emerged position 7/8, having attained a total of 87 points.
On 6th August, 2024 Teacher Celline and the learners started the journey back to Machakos from Eldoret. Upon reaching Nakuru they alighted and waited to board the van that had other learners who were also from chess National competition which was held in Nakuru.
Upon arrival in Machakos learners were dropped at specific drop off points as advised by their parents.
